The Pittsburg Police Department provided an update to last Sunday’s early morning fatal shooting which is still under investigation and reported that a second victim has died.

According to police, shortly before 6:30 A.M., Pittsburg Police Officers responded to the 7-11 store at 4600 Century Boulevard in regards to a shooting.

As officers arrived, they located a car parked in front of the business with two women inside. Both women were found to be suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper torso. Officers quickly began performing life-saving efforts on the women and speaking with witnesses to the incident.

Medical personnel arrived on scene and continued life-saving efforts. One of the women, Courtnee Allen 23 year-old resident of San Leandro, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other woman, Angelique Abercrombie, 21 year-old resident of Pittsburg, was determined to have life-threatening injuries and transported to an area hospital for further medical treatment. Unfortunately, over the past few days Angelique’s condition declined and earlier today she succumbed to her injuries.

During the investigation, Pittsburg detectives determined both Courtnee and Angelique were seated in their car in front of the store. For unknown reasons, a subject walked up behind the car and began firing several rounds from a handgun into the car, striking both Courtnee and Angelique several times. The subject then fled the area in an unknown direction. Detectives are working to locate additional video surveillance of the incident, along with detailed information from witnesses.

This continues to be a very active investigation and updates will be provided when they are available. The Pittsburg Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance and asks anyone with additional information to please contact the Pittsburg Police Department Tip-Line at 925-252-4040.

This is the city of Pittsburg’s third and fourth homicide for 2021.
