Pittsburg Police announced the arrest of a 27-year-old Bay Point Man after a series of armed robberies that began just after 4:18 am.

According to police, Pittsburg officers responded to a series of armed robberies in the north east portion of our city. The first incident was reported at 4:18 am in the 100 block of Spinnaker Way. The victim was entering into his vehicle parked in front of his residence when the suspect approached him armed with a handgun. The suspect removed personal property from the victim prior to fleeing the area.

Three additional incidents were reported within a mile of each other in a short time frame. (100 block of Warren Way and (2) in the 100 block of Catamaran Way).

Officers began saturating the area in an effort to locate the suspect and prevent additional incidents. A vehicle was seen by our officer driving recklessly and failing to stop at a stop sign. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle and the driver fled at a high rate of speed.

Officers pursued the vehicle and ultimately lost sight of it on Bailey Road near Highway 4.

The vehicle was located several minutes later on Willow Pass Road near Port Chicago Highway. Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office were the first to arrive on scene and the vehicle was unoccupied.

Officers from Pittsburg PD, Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office and CHP assisted in searching for the suspect. While searching for the suspect, a K9 trail was conducted from the location of the suspect vehicle. This K9 trail directed officers to the field areas north of State Route 4, and the new housing developments for the San Marcos area.

The suspect matching descriptions provided by several of the victims was located near the Bailey Road Bart Station, he was contacted and detained. He was found to be in possession of stolen items taken from the earlier robberies. No weapon or firearm was located.

The suspect was identified as a 27 year old Bay Point resident and he is currently on Parole for Carjacking.

Police say more information including the suspects identity will be provided once additional follow up is conducted. Police are asking that anyone with information relative to this incident contact us at 925-427-7369.

What a jerk off parolee. I’m glad this loser was apprehended, you can run but you can’t hide. These damn thugs need to try to look for a job instead of always trying to rob people. I’m sure he did not learn his lesson the first time in prison, maybe this next time will be a memorable event for him. Message to all you thugs and wannabe thugs, Get a job like the rest of us. Great work to all the agencies involved.

On Parole for Car Jacking, oh really. Good work By our law enforcement. Thank you California Voters, who voted for Prop. 47. That guy should still be in prison, however he is out in our community doing more crime. Absolute failure in our justice system and ignorant voters.

I think Prop 47 is costing them double! arrest, release, arrest, release, arrest, release, steal guns from people’s cars and commit murder after you’ve been arrested, released. This is the STUPIDIST proposition ever passed!
