Pittsburg Police Make Arrest After Bank Robbery Attempt

At 9:15 a.m. Saturday, Pittsburg Police Officers were advised of a bank robbery in progress at the Bank of America located at 2501 Railroad Avenue.

The suspect passed a note to a teller and demanded an large amount of money. Employees activated their silent robbery alarm and Bank of America Corporate Security contacted Police Dispatch.

The suspect was described to responding officers. Pittsburg Police Officers converged on the bank and established a perimeter. Officers were advised that the suspect was walking out of the bank.

The suspect was detained by officers without incident.

The suspect was positively identified by the bank employees and arrested for robbery. No actual loss was sustained and no one was injured.

The suspect arrested is a 34 year old male from Bay Point.
