At 9:18 am Thursday, the Pittsburg Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at Loveridge Road at Stoneman near the 7-Eleven that left at least one man wounded.
According to preliminary information, it was reported the man was shot at and hit in the hand by a vehicle driving by when the male produced his own firearm and fired back possibly driving the vehicle. He then ran to the 7-Eleven for assistance.
Pittsburg Police were able to recover a firearm from the incident that was thrown into an open field.
The condition of the victim is unknown and no other information was available. Check back for updates.

Shooting Investigation
Early this morning, Pittsburg Officers responded to the area of Stoneman Avenue and Loveridge Road in regards to a report of shots fire. As officers arrived on scene, they located a man suffering from a gunshot to the hand. During the investigation, it was learned that the man was walking on the sidewalk of Stoneman Ave when a dark green sedan slowly drove up to him. The man noticed the occupants in the vehicle were looking directly at him and were in possession of a handgun. The man stated the occupants in the vehicle began firing at him, with one of the rounds hitting him in the hand. The man, who was also in possession of a handgun, then began firing back at the vehicle. The vehicle fled the area in an unknown direction. During the investigation, officers were able to locate and recover the handgun the victim had in his possession. The relationship between the man and the occupants of the vehicle is undetermined at this time. The vehicle and suspects are outstanding. The man was transported to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries. No additional information is available at this time.

Am I to understand that the vehicle driving by shot the man in the hand? Must have been a pretty smart vehicle. You’d think it was someone INSIDE that vehicle who did the shooting!
