The Pittsburg Police are investigating a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian near the 700 block of Willow Pass Road.
According to Pittsburg Police Captain Ron Raman, at 6:45 am Wednesday, officers responded to the scene and located an male adult lying on the roadway of Willow Pass Road. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital in grave condition and was later pronounced deceased.
Police say the pedestrian was walking eastbound on Willow Pass Road on the south sidewalk, he lives in the neighborhood and this is routine for him. The driver was traveling westbound on Willow Pass Road and struck the pedestrian as she turned into the driveway of 701 Willow Pass Road where the woman works.
The driver is being cooperative and intoxication is not a factor.
The roadway will be closed for several hours, while the Fatal Accident Response Team investigates this collision.
