Pittsburg Police Investigating Early Morning Fatal Shooting

The Pittsburg Police Department announced that just after 2:00 am this morning, officers responded to the report of shots fired on the 600 block of Cumberland Street in Pittsburg.

Police say when officers arrived they located the 38 year old victim, a resident of Pittsburg, in a nearby parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim transported to an area hospital where he later died.

Preliminary information has revealed that the victim and suspect are known to each other. Officers are interviewing witnesses and patrons of a nearby business along with reviewing area video surveillance.

Additional information will be provided as it becomes available. This is Pittsburg’s second murder of 2018.
