Pittsburg Police Investigating Death of Transient Man at Buchanan Park

The Pittsburg Police announced Wednesday that just after 7:00 am, officers responded to a local park for an unresponsive male seated on a park bench.

According Pittsburg Police Captain Ron Raman, officers responded to Buchanan Park (4150 Harbor Street) for an unresponsive male seated on one of the park benches. The caller was an associate of the victim and had seen him in the park yesterday evening.

Raman says officers located the male adult victim and found that he was deceased.  The victim is a transient and know to frequent the area.

“At this point the cause of death is not known.  Pittsburg Police Detectives are investigating this incident and anyone with information or that may have been in the park yesterday evening should contact the police department,” said Raman via Press Release.

Police say there are security cameras in the area and officers are currently looking through footage. An autopsy is scheduled for later this week and more information will be released when available.
