On Wednesday, the Pittsburg Police Department promoted Sergeant Cassandra Simental and Lieutenant Robert Semas at City Hall.
Sergeant Simental has been a member of our police department since 1997. She started her career as a volunteer police explorer. She was was hired as a police aide and ultimately sworn in as a police officer in 2002. She has been a training officer and a detective. Today she was sworn in as our first female police sergeant.
Lieutenant Semas has been a member of our police department for over 20 years. He has worked patrol, narcotics and he been a member of the police departments SWAT team. He later supervised the narcotics division as a sergeant.
Pittsburg Police Captain Rathnesh Raman offered congratulations to both officers and sid the promotions were well deserved.
