On Sunday afternoon, the Pittsburg Police Department responded to the area of W. 11th Street for a report of shots fired and a subject firing a gun at a stop sign.

According to Captain Steve Albanese, officers located a vehicle parked illegally and several people at the scene.

Albanese said upon arrival officers observed a damaged stop sign and contacted several subjects in the front yard of a residence. During the investigation, officers located a pellet rifle with a scope on it. Officers continued their investigation and ultimately towed a vehicle from the location.

Inside the vehicle, officers located a backpack with two handguns inside. One of the original subjects contacted at the residence was determined to be associated with the vehicle and was taken into custody for the firearms,” said Albanese.

Ronald Ball, 58 of Pittsburg, was arrested and later transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

People get bored at any age. Still not smart to shoot a stop sign due to bullet going past sign and hitting somebody.
