Pittsburg: Gas Leak From Rail Car Prompts Evacuation of 6 Homes

According to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District, a propane gas leak from a train car has caused six homes to be evacuated Wednesday night.

The train had been pulled into a railroad yard on Parkside Drive near Warren Street and CONFIRE was waiting for a contractor to come seal the leak. The call originally came in around 4:44 pm.

The rail car is owned by Union Pacific. CONFIRE and Pittsburg Police are on scene as a precaution. No injuries were reported.
