I can’t help but wonder if all these shootings are tied to the recent early release program to reduce overpopulation of our prisons.

Yes Debra, AB 109. Our prison victims complained of overcrowding causing inhumane conditions. Poor prison victims (sarcasm). But we were promised these would be low level crime criminals who are released back into society. Low level is definitely a crime without the use of a gun.

Don’t forget about Prop 47 which the uninformed voters passed too! I say uninformed voters because ignorant pinheads would probably hurt the poor souls.

Old Pittburg, you are absolutely correct in your definition of low level crimes. These low level criminals are placed into prisons with hard core criminals. So, one must change to survive. Prison is no longer about reforming a person, it’s a breeding grounds for violence. East County is the New Richmond & Oakland especially Antioch. The other cities have their s#*t together, and pass their waste onto us. We haven’t hit rock bottom yet, the future still isn’t looking good with the current Mayor and Councilmembers, and now they want to move up to County Supervisors. We can change it by voting in the right members, your choice. For me they are out.

In 1995, there was a policing action called operational crack down in Richmond (in the triangle) to support the Richmond Police Department because of various crimes. Antioch is truly heading in that direction, because our wonderful Mayor and Councilmembers voted that way in 2006/7 to inviting those individuals in thar areas (triangle) to come to Antioch for a better life style. Cool; however, the mentality that they lived in before does not change and now we are faced with it. Low end crimes moving on up the food chain.

Antioch needs to do something about it soon or it will be to late. Vote with caution and impeach those who fail to do their job. They all have personal agenda and it’s not involving you or us.

Happy times in Antioch is gone, now we are doing hard times. Solutions: Fired or replace the current leadership, higher more cops, get involved with your own community, take no s#$t this is our city. If the parents can’t handle their kids or they refuse to (because they are involved too) let them feel the penalties also. Suppress gang activities, drugs, section 8s, dumping grounds for criminals and the list goes on. It’s our city, not theirs.

Never mind the fact that the Mayor and city council are trying for vote in another increase of Section 8 permits too!

Stan,

Exactly, the Mayor and Councilmembers are truly in it for themselves and not keeping Antioch’s true future in it’s sight as a great city as it was before. And moreover the board of supervisors as the motley crew leaves Antioch, them move up to County Supervisors and destroy the east county.

I can see in the future Marshall Law will need to be implemented. The true criminal who caused this pandemic will to incarcerated too. And, they don’t have any type of diplomatic immunity.

Next movie out should be Escape from Antioch / East County: Leaving behind their Dullard Leaders to fend for themselves.

This is a prime example of poor leadership, we’re DOOMED.

Shooting has nothing to do with prison releases it comes from dum young idiots trying to prove something when all there doing is taking away a good person from this earth he was targeted and I hope whoever did it burns in hell . Period that’s what they deserve
