On Saturday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to an open water rescue outside the Pittsburg Marina around 5:30 pm.
They responded to a report of a juvenile and adult male “struggling” in the water outside the Pittsburg Marina using only a identifying point as a “windmill”
Firefighters were able to locate at least three victims on the boat, including an 8-year-old who used a cell phone to communicate with the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office to provide a location.
Meanwhile, a fourth victim, an adult male, was not located after both the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office helicopter and US Coast Guard also responded. The search was called off due to darkness falling after four-hours of searching.
No further details have been provided.
