At 11:39 pm, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District crews responded to a residential fire on San Remo Ct. in Pittsburg. When on scene, crews dealt with a small kitchen fire which turned out to be grease on a stove that caught the nearby blinds on fire. The incident had crews on scene for roughly 50-minutes.
What is interesting in this incident is the response time was 5-minutes longer than it needed to be as Station 87 closed down Monday–that station was a half-mile away from this incident. It appears the homeowners got lucky this was a minor incident.
