Trevor Gillilan made a triumphant early return to East County over the weekend and made a surprise appearance for a short time at a fundraiser being held in his honor at Lumpy’s Diner last night. Lumpy’s donated 20% of the evenings proceeds to the Gillilan family.

Since the August 30 accident that left Trevor with severe burns covering 63% of his body, multiple fundraising events have been held to help raise funds for the family–including an event at Brownstone Gardens on Sept. 25 which 300 people showed up for a dinner. The community has been generous to the tune of more than $20,000 in total when combining the account types.

Now that Trevor his home, he and his family will continue with his care and change his dressings daily and he will continue with physical therapy.

Donations are still needed and its being recommended at this time to donate directly into a Bank of the West Account. For any questions, contact (925) 634-2161.

We want to thank everyone – our community, family and friends – for the love and support you have given us from day one since this tragedy happened. The way everyone has come together and given of themselves is just awe-inspiring. We are amazed at the fundraising efforts and the goals you have achieved. We want everyone to know that we appreciate all you have done and donated. Your generosity is beyond measure and we thank you. We want to clarify though that as the article on eastcountytoday.net states “donations are still needed”, we feel that everyone has been so selfless in donating their time, effort and money, and want you to know additional donations are not necessary at this time. Thank you all so much for everything you have done.

Love,
Ricky and Joelle
