Photos: Engine 88 and Antioch Police Work Multiple Incidents Saturday

by ECT

The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District Crew from Engine 88 and Antioch Police had a busy day yesterday between calls for service and at times were tied at the hip. I happened to catch them on a few incidents yesterday and wanted to share the photographs.

The first set of photographs were from an auto vs. motorcycle on Hillcrest just passed Wildflower which required one male victim to be transported via American Medical Response with minor injuries—I believe the incident occurred in the early afternoon.

The second incident was a garbage fire full of construction material off Hidden Glen and Braemer in Antioch yesterday evening at 7:23 pm. The smoke actually raised some concerns for drivers in Oakley who were coming down Laurel Road making their way onto Highway 4 as the smoke was heavy as crews worked to put out the flames.

Due to the silliness of Laurel and roads closed in Antioch around Canada Valley Road and the new construction I got to the scene during mop up which still highlights the danger of this fire. Due to its location, a water source was a bit far from the incident which required a good amount of hose and water tender on scene.
