Photos: Antioch PD Apprehend Car Thief After Short Pursuit

by ECT

The Antioch Police Department captured a suspected car thief after short chase that ended on Erica Ct. in Antioch just after 1:50 pm Monday afternoon.

EastCountyToday.net stumbled onto this chase as it unfolded by chance while driving on Lone Tree Way and followed the officers in pursuit. After a left turn on Davison adjacent to the Raley’s shopping center, officers made a left onto Sunset Lane and began searching the area for the suspect.

After about a 10-12 minute search, officers found the suspect hiding in bushes after a caller reported the suspect to dispatch. Officers quickly moved to the suspect where they apprehended him without incident.

We are assuming the red car shown in the pictures was the stolen vehicle, but cannot confirm that. We will update this story if more details are provided to us later today.

Here are some photographs we captured of this incident.

Wow! Good work Antioch PD and glad to see the pictures. Maybe it will make other criminals think twice about stealing.

Great Job APD. Just want everyone to know car thefts are out of control. In the last week we have had a car dumped in front of our house and the neighbor across the street had his pick up truck stolen and used in a robbery. His truck was locked, it makes no difference these kids have keys they use and in under a minute your car is gone.

I like you articles but you really need to learn the difference between “passed” and “past”…. you’ve made that mistake at least twice now.

For the grammer police, Heather, it is not “you” it is “your”.
