Photos: Antioch Continues With Community Cafe Meetings

by ECT

The City of Antioch continued its “Community Cafe Meetings” as a way to speak directly with participating members of the community in order to gather their thoughts and opinions on the future of Antioch. Last night, Antioch held their third of four scheduled meetings. The forums will focus on three areas which include future of the community, community partnerships and priority setting.

The final meeting will be held on at 6:30 pm on Wednesday January 29 at the Nick Rodriquez Community Center located at 213 F Street. The City is asking attendees to please RSVP. You can do so by emailing [email protected]

Editors Comment:
From our observation last night, the work sessions are low key and provide a very inviting environment to talk and discuss issues, concerns, and solutions one may have.  You also had four of five council members at the meeting including the Police Chief and Antioch Unified School District Board President in attendance.

As a member of the first group there was very good attendance. Everyone thought they were being talked down to and when asked what they were going to do with all the comments the answer was “We don’t know”. There is great potential here if they only use it. Many of us also suggested they use a different moderator. Way too much of her in the past year or so.
