On Thursday, Antioch Police Chief Allan Cantando announced that Michael Mortimer had been named the Antioch Police Officer of the year for 2015.
Mortimer was hired as a CSO in 2001 and became sworn officer in December 2003. Prior to being hired, he was a Police Explorer from 97-2001. He’s worked Patrol, SRU, SWAT, Narcotics Det, violent crimes det, SOU, gangs, and is currently acting SGT of SOU (Special Operations Unit in Investigations).
“Officer Mortimer is highly respected by his peers and supervisors. His work ethic is unparalleled and we are extremely fortunate to have him on the force,” said Captain T Brooks.
