Man Shot Dead on San Joaquin Avenue, Antioch’s 4th Homicide of 2015

A 32-year-old man was shot and killed Tuesday morning in Antioch making it the second homicide in three days and fourth homicide of the year.

The incident occurred at 12:39 am in the 400 block of San Joaquin Avenue according to Antioch Police Captain Anthony Morefield.

Officers responded to a report of screaming and gunshots heard in front of a residence in the 400 block of San Joaquin Ave. The officers arrived to find an adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police have not yet identified the victim and no arrests have been reported.

On Sunday, at 6:25pm, Antioch Police responded to a shooting which left an adult male dead in the 1800 block of Cavallo Road.

Nothing good happens after midnight. 2 homicides in 3 days is never good because once they start happening they do not stop. Antioch residents better start getting it together or we will be on the front pages of every paper replacing Richmond.

I live on that street. I knew I heard screaming coming from somewhere. I heard a truck pull away from the street rather quickly after the screaming. I’m not sure if that has anything to do with the incident.
