The Pittsburg Police Department responded to a report of a male wearing body armor and armed with a rifle on Arlington Drive.

According to police, the incident began at 8:30 am Thursday when a resident said his roommate was acting strange and that people were out to get him. Before officers arrived, the roommate called back to say the man was walking down Arlington Drive wearing body armor and armed with a rifle.

Police say officers arrived on the scene and made contact with the man where he was cooperative and followed commands while dropping the rifle. He got to the ground and was detained without incident.

During a search of the man’s residence, detectives found an additional handgun and ammunition.

The man was booked at the police department and later transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Note

This armed subject was also reported by neighbors who said he was looking into cars and at least three subjects were detained while the incident was active with two being released at the scene.
