Letter: Antioch Economic Development Chair Calls on Torres-Walker to Resign from City Council

by ECT

The following Letter to the Editor was issued by Antioch Economic Development Commission chairman Tim McCall:

As chairman of the Antioch Economic Development Commission, I am calling for the resignation of City Council Member Torres-Walker. Her multiple displays of poor judgement in the City of Antioch is negatively affecting the Cities ability to attract and retain business which supply jobs and goods to our residents and community.

In addition, I am calling on Mayor Thorpe to remove Torres-Walker from the police oversight committee.

Tim McCall – Chairman
Antioch Economic Development Commission.

She should have been kicked out long ago as she was on the council illegally because of her arson past. Arsonists are not allowed to hold any political office in California. She withheld her conviction. On top of that walker was arrested over 22 times for a variety of crimes including DUI’s.

I have a number of friends who were seriously contemplating opening businesses in Antioch, but with the publicity generated by the Walker woman, they opted for other cities, and who can blame them. They weren’t too happy with what we have for a mayor here either.
