by ECT

Thursday afternoon, Ken Turnage II announced that he is officially a candidate to run for Antioch City Council in the November 8 election.

Turnage said in a short statement:

“I am pleased to announce that as of today I am officially a Candidate for Antioch City Council at the November 8th election. I will be holding many open forums as well as meet and greet opportunities so I can communicate what my positions are as well as hear others concerns.  To find out more information go to my Facebook page Ken Turnage II for Antioch City Council.

I look forward to earning your votes!”

Turnage said that it’s time for a change in Antioch and fresh ideas are required to fix a lot of problems the city currently is facing. He plans on focusing on realistic solutions to tackle budget issues, blight, and future growth. He also believes the city can do much more to become business friendly and attract higher paying jobs.

Turnage now joins a field that includes Councilmembers Mary Rocha and Monica Wilson who are both up for re-election, along with newcomers Karl Dietzel, Fred Rouse, and Lamar Thorpe.
