K9 Assaulted as Antioch Police Catch Armed Robbery Suspects

by ECT

The Antioch Police Department responded to a reported armed robbery attempt at McDonalds on Mahogany Way in Antioch Sunday morning.

According to radio traffic, around 8:00 am a suspect wearing a red bandana over his face entered McDonalds and hoped over the counter attempting to take cash out of the register and pointed a gun at the manager.

The subject then exited McDonalds into a vehicle occupied by two others and took off behind Lowes before fleeing the area. Antioch units responded and located the vehicle headed eastbound on E. 18th. In the area of D Street, one subject exited the vehicle while two others continued driving east bound.

The vehicle eventually was stopped on A Street and Wilbur where no gun was located and was believed to be on the subject who exited the vehicle. Two suspects were detained.

Meanwhile back on E. 18th and D, Antioch police observed the suspect hoping fences on E. 18th between D Street and A Street. By 8:20 am, a perimeter was set up and Pittsburg Police assisted by sending two officers in order to allow Antioch to perform a yard-to-yard search.

Antioch Police search homes in the area on E. 18th and E. 17th with a perimeter holding its ground.

By 9:35 am, police entered a yard with permission of the homeowner where they located the subject hiding in the garage where he was barricaded. Police warned the subject the dog would be released if he did not give up while ordering him to drop his weapon.

The K9 was released where he was assaulted by the suspect. The suspect continued to disobey officers orders and tried to fight off officers.

Antioch Police were able to take the man into custody who was bloodied from resisting arrest and fighting with the K9 as well as officers. By 9:40 am, the suspect was pulled from the garage and medical was called for a dog bite.

According to police, they stated on scene this is how a perimeter is supposed to work. They get a large enough area and get officers in place quickly so they subject cannot escape. With a perimeter set, police explained patience is key because the subject cannot go anywhere. In this case, everything went right and all suspects were detained.

Thank you ECT for showing these photos and highlighting the great job of the K9 and APD. I hope Mr. All Good in the Neighborhood serves some time for hitting the dog.

Great job APD on a fast response! Another group of Oakland’s finest detained in Antioch. I wish these turds stayed in Oakland. We are tired of their shit here in East County! Instead of contributing to society by working and paying taxes, they are contributing to our corrections system.

Sorry to Quashawn, Delon, and Daijion. Those names sound like toppings and spreads that you would put on a sandwich.

These young thugs need to start doing something with their lives. It is not just them that do not have a mother or father when they were growing up. I know many people, of all races that grew up with a single parent that make the most of their lives. Come on people we need to wake up and stop being a statistic. These youngsters have free education, low cost and no cost community colleges, and tons of other financial help for people to go to school. Stop with the excuses and start hitting the books.

All crooks, no matter the crime or how tough they are, all eventually get caught.

I’m glad they were caught n taken to jail without being shot n killed n I’m glad they didn’t hurt anyone now all the racist comments is uncalled for n ignorant.. What we have is a lost generation.Name calling isnt gonna solve a thing n your an adult Wow hmmm..When I was growing up we had summer jobs,boys/girls club n other resources this generation has noda But its not an excuse to commit crimes…Police are the biggest gangster but because the have a badge n gun some shot to kill unarmed civilians n the judicial system backs murder up but only if you a cop..Police are suppose to stop, apprehend, escort to jail n let the courts decide as these officers did yes great job indeed..But why is it the thug police that take life’s get away with murder I understand if a gun is pointed at one n life is in danger but to shot a unarmed man with back towards you No!!unleash the K9 tax him but for God sake don’t shot him 13 times 3 in the head then when he’s lifeless unleash the dog to bite up a lifeless body…So Yea in this case the officers did what they are suppose to..

People who call everything racist and use race as an excuse for everything are not only racist, but ignorant.

Also, people who can’t spell or use proper grammar are ignorant.

I hope the LORD has mercy on everyone’s soul. Including those that judge with limited vision and knowledge: may the LORD have mercy on your soul. I’m not mad nor glad about what these men did, I hope they can find redemption. I hope that the officers find it in their heart that they are doing the right things. I pray that you all can understand the desperation born out of systematic and spiritual poverty, instead of rejecting these poor men’s humanity. I pray that the hypocrites who sit in high positions in this country can correct their ways, instead of correcting my grammar. May the LORD spare us from anymore ignorance. May their be no more bloodshed on either side of any altercation. May Antioch find peace and reformation through these struggling times. May the finger pointing of hate and division become an extended hand of love and unification. I have love for my brothers and sisters, may they pass on that love to those who need it most. May it return ten fold so that our community can grow and prosper. May we all find forgiveness in our hearts. Love thy neighbor, pray for thy enemy: THIS is the path to PEACE.
