July 9-15: Antioch Police Briefs

Between July 9-15 the Antioch Police Department had 1,595 calls for service which netted 66 arrests according to Antioch City Manager Steve Duran.

Of those arrests, 33 were felony, 33 misdemeanors along with 3 DUI. Here is a recap of events provided in the City Manager, Steve Durans, weekly report.

Loss Prevention Prevents Arson Attempt
On 7/9/2015 at 3:56 pm, officers responded to the 99 Cent Store at 2515 Somersville Rd. on the report that 22 year old Alexander Lombard entering the business and selecting a package of lighters, several bottles of lighter fluid, gauze, and a bucket. Lombard filled the bucket with lighter fluid, used the gauze as a “wick”, and intended to use a lighter to ignite the lighter fluid. A witness reported Lombard’s actions to loss prevention personnel. An employee who was able to stop Lombard before he lit the gauze. Lombard was detained in the office until officers arrived. He was arrested for attempted arson and booked at the county jail.

 

Woman Found Inside Van Arrested on Felony Warrant
On 7/9/2015 at 11:00 pm, officers responded to Trembath Ct. after a resident discovered 36 year old Christina Zambudio inside of his van. Officers contacted Zambudio in the van and it was determined she had an outstanding felony warrant issued by San Joaquin County possession of stolen property. She was arrested without incident and booked at the county jail.

 

 Man Arrested After Stabbing on Delta Fair Boulevard
On 7/10/15 at 12:51 pm, officers responded to the report of a fight to the rear of the CVS store at 3103 Delta Fair Boulevard. When officers arrived, they located a 33 year old male with a stab wound. He was transported to a hospital. Nearby, officers detained 40 year old Dionysus West who matched the responsible description. He was arrested and for assault with a deadly weapon after admitting his involvement. He was later booked at the county jail. The victim was later treated and released from the hospital.

 

Man Arrested After Brandishing Weapons, Resists Arrest
On 7/10/2015 at 4:19 pm, officers responded to 2500 Somersville Rd. on the reports of a brandishing. Three victims reported they were seated in a car in the parking lot between Chevron and Macy’s when they were approached by 36 year old Phillip Wade. Wade told one of the victims he needed to keep his woman in “check”. None of the victims knew what Wade was talking about and they asked that he leave them alone. Wade pulled out a pocket knife with his right hand and a stun gun with his left hand and brandished them at the victim’s while threatening them. Wade walked away as the victims called 911. Officers found Wade nearby and arrested without incident. He was transported to the county jail. While at the county jail, Wade became furious, stood up from a bench and charged at an officer. A short struggle ensued and with deputies’ assistance, control was regained of Wade. He was also booked for resisting arrest.

 

Man Arrested After Loitering Call
On 7/10/2015 at 8:41 pm, officers responded to 1203 Sycamore Dr. on the report of 28 year old Brandon Hill loitering in the carport of the above location. Hill had previously been warned to stay off the property. Officers responded and Hill was arrested. Hill is also on probation out of Alameda County. He was booked at the county jail.

Man Arrested After Carrying a Dagger, Controlled Substance and Drug Paraphernalia
On 7/10/15 at 8:29 pm, officers responded to the Antioch Marina at 5 Marina Pl. on the report of two males handling a gun the Dow Wetlands. Officers arrived and located 41 year old Lee Tant and 28 year old Joseph Dalessio. Both were found to be on probation with search clauses. Tant had a fixed blade knife concealed in his rear pant pocket, along with methamphetamine and a pipe. Dalessio did not have anything illegal but did have 2 pellet guns in his backpack. He advised that they were shooting at a piece of wood. Tant was arrested for possession of a dirk or dagger, a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He was booked at the county jail on these charges as well as probation violation.

 

Man Suspected of Setting Off Fireworks Arrested on Warrant
On 7/10/2015 at 9:51 pm, officers responded to Officers responded to Chichibu Park at 3200 Longview Rd on the report of subjects being loud and possibly setting off fireworks. Upon arrival, officers contacted 31 year old Jose Camarena. A records check revealed he had an outstanding arrest warrant for DUI. He was cited in the field and given a new court date.

 

Man Arrested After Dispute
On 7/11/15 at 12:32 am, officers responded to 1111 James Donlon Blvd on a report of neighbors hearing a dispute. Officers were aware that 23 year old August Hook was associated that address and was wanted for a previously reported robbery from JC Penny’s. Hook also found to have a felony warrant out of Alameda County for auto theft. Upon their arrival, officers spotted Hook inside the apartment through a window. He initially refused to open the door but eventually came outside and was arrested without incident. He was booked at the county jail.

 

Man Arrested on Trespassing and Probation Violations
On 7/11/2015 at 7:50 am, while patrolling the area of Somersville Town Center in the 2500 block of Somersville Rd., an officer contacted 41 year old Justin Enriquez loitering near Starbucks. Enriquez matched the description of a subject that the employees have been having a chronic loitering problem with. The on-duty manager of positively identified Enriquez and he was arrested for trespassing, and a probation violation. Enriquez was booked at the county jail.

 

Man Arrested on Drug Charges
On 7/12/2015 at 11:27 am, an officer was in the area of “A” and W. Madill streets. He observed 32 year old Gary Kennedy acting abnormal and stopped to contact him. Kennedy ran to a nearby building and the officer gave chase. Kennedy stopped and discarded a bag of methamphetamine and then gave up. Kennedy was taken into custody without incident and he was booked at the county jail.

 

Man Arrested on Warrant
On 7/12/2015 at 11:54 am, an officer contacted 61 year old Larry Gary who was loitering at the Smart and Final store located at 2638 Somersville Rd. A records check revealed Gary had an outstanding arrest warrant for DUI, Assault and Hit & Run. He was arrested without incident and booked at the county jail.

 

Man Arrested on Warrant for Violating State Parole
On 7/12/2015 at 6:17 pm, an officer was patrolling the area Lone Tree Way and Putnam St. and saw 28 year old Adam Renfroe. Renfroe quickly walked behind a gas station and hid. The officer contacted Renfroe and a warrant check revealed he was wanted for No Bail arrest warrant for violating state parole. Renfroe was on parole for a burglary conviction. He was arrested and later booked at the county jail.

 

Juveniles Steal Golf Cart, Four Cited
On 7/12/2015 at 8:03 pm, officers responded to the Lonetree Golf Course at 4800 Lonetree Way on the report of juveniles stealing a golf cart. The officers located the cart and juveniles nearby. The juveniles, two 9 year olds, a ten year old and a 13 year old were detained and cite released to their parents.

 

Woman Arrested After Walmart Theft
On 7/14/2015 at 9:48 pm, 22 year old Martitsa Guerrero was detained at Wal-Mart for theft. She was already on probation for a robbery conviction. Officers arrested her and later booked her at the county jail for burglary and violation of probation.

 

Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant, Resists Arrest
On 7/14/2015 at 8:18 pm, officers were patrolling the 2200 block of Hamlin Dr. when they saw 20 year old Deandre Burns. They were aware he had an outstanding arrest warrant for failing to yield to a police vehicle and resisting arrest. Burns fled from officers and a foot chase ensued. Burns was apprehended a short distance away and placed under arrest. Burns was booked at the county jail on his warrant and resisting arrest.

 

Man Arrested on Warrant Charges
On 7/15/2015 at 12:41 pm, an officer was doing a security check of City Park at 1000 “A” St. He contacted a 23 year old William Landers loitering near the restrooms. During a records check, Landers was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant for possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested without incident and booked at the county jail.
