Hans Ho: Fraud Alert by Imposters of Deer Valley Soccer

by ECT

I received a disturbing email from Hans Ho this afternoon about a fraud attempt by young people claiming to be members of the Deer Valley Soccer Team in order to solicit donations–the soccer team is not taking donations at this time.

Here is the alert.

FRAUD ALERT

I have been alerted by a volunteer at Deer Valley High School of a fraud attempt by young people masquerading as members of the Deer Valley Soccer Team in order to solicit donations.

The volunteer assured me that the Deer Valley High School Soccer team is NOT doing any fund raiser at this point. This group of young people is perpetrating a fraud. This was first reported amongst residence around the Save Mart neighborhood.

When solicited by this group, your answer should be a firm NO and follow up by notifying both the police and Deer Valley High School.

In general, do not fall victim to solicitations. Legitimate charities will have clearly identified representatives. When in doubt, contact the charity or program that they are supposedly raising funds for. If the program is legitimate, they will have means for you to donate. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD ANY MONEY BE OFFERED TO SOLICITORS.

BE ALERT! BE SKEPTICAL! DO NOT BECOME A VICTIM

Vans bring inter city boys that go door to door to solicit money. These adults in charge should be arrested.
