The Friends of Marsh Creek Watershed partnered with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and PG&E to keep the creek clean yesterday as they worked on a restoration project in Oakley. The clean up also featured a $25,000 check presentation to help fund future projects.

The event had 18 volunteers between 10:00 am to 12:30 where weeding, mulching and planting more foliage on the strip of land behind O’Reilly’s Auto Parts on W Cypress and Main St. The goal is to improve the quality of the water by using plants that will filter pollutants out of the run-off before it drains into the creek.

Here are a few pictures I took from yesterdays event.
