by ECT

At 6:56 pm Saturday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters responded to a report of a fire at MNO Grant Elementary School in Antioch.

CONFIRE arrived on scene to find flames shooting out of two dumpsters outside the school which is suspected as arson.

According to radio traffic, flames reached the building and a full alarm response was requested.

Captain George Laing said the fire took about 10-minutes to extinguish the dumpsters and a portion of the roof of one of the buildings.

“The exterior wall was masonry and the building sustained minor damage. A sprinkler next to the dumpsters activated protecting the main electrical service to the building. The fire is under investigation and was intentionally set,” said Laing.

There were no injuries, and the damage estimate has not yet been determined.

hoping a camera picked up the punk who set this fire. Then if it was a young punk, the parents can pay for the damage.
