Just before 10:00 am Saturday, Contra Costa County Fire was dispatched to a report of a vegetation fire near a homeless encampment in the area of Pittsburg-Antioch Highway near Loveridge in the City of Pittsburg.
Upon arrival, they located a 1.5 acre fire of brush, grass and trees which was also surrounded by a fire line. They also stated the homeless were on scene attempting to put out the fire. A short time later, police from both Pittsburg and Antioch were requested to shutdown the Pittsburg-Antioch Highway between Loveridge and Arcy Lane
By 10:25 am, the fire was determined to be contained to approximently 3 acres and required heavy mop up due to the amount of vegetation. Crew 12 was also requested to the scene to assist.

Damn still some hanging outside. Gavin I thought we were housing them. Common man.
The fucking homeless are at it again! ALL of them should be picked up, put on buses and driven somewhere like Death Valley where they can fend for themselves! Enough of this shit already! GET THEM OUT OF OUR CITIES!
