While responding, CONFIRE crews observed smoke and declared this a working structure fire. It was reported that crews were inside the home doing work when the fire broke out. The home was previously a “grow house” and crews were urged to use caution for electrical due to possible bad wiring on the home.

Upon arrival, crews saw smoke coming from the attic, however, no flames were visible. Crews made access to the roof and made an interior attack. No extensions to neighboring homes.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

This is the second major structure fire in two days as on Tuesday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters were dispatched to an office building in the area of Lone Tree Way and Sunset Lane for a report of a building on fire in the City of Antioch. The fire was possibly started by homeless.
