On Saturday, De’Andre Ruffin, 17 and a student at Dozier Libby Medical High School and member of Troop 194 completed an Eagle Scout Project at Lemon Tree Court in Antioch.
Ruffin planned, developed, and provided leadership to others to complete this garden project, as required by the Boy Scouts of America. Ruffin worked with the community manager of Contra Costa Estates for permission to use the plot of land for this project.
More than $1,500 in funds were raised for the project which required and received a donation of mulch for project completion. Ruffin also put in over 50 hours into planning and executing this community project.
On Saturday, more than 30-people joined in the project to assist Ruffin.
According to Carol Brisbon Crump, members of the immediate community will sign up with the HOA manager to receive their own garden box to grow and maintain what they’d like. Water is provide by the HOA.
