Delta Baseball and Softball League Celebrate Opening Day

Little Leaguers of all ages and ability came together Saturday to celebrate opening day of Delta Baseball and Softball League at Freedom High School.

They were joined by Mayor of Antioch Wade Harper who was joined by city council members Gary Agopian, Tony Tiscareno, and Monica Wilson.  Oakley Mayor Kevin Romick was also on hand and was joined by vice mayor Randy Pop and councilmember Diane Burgis.

A real treat for the ceremony was when American Idol contestant Briana Oakley sang the National Anthem as she knocked it out of the park.

The league also provided checks totally $2,750 to three local schools as part of their “Going to Bat for Schools” program. Representatives from Diablo Vista Elementary School, Holy Rosary Catholic School, and Cornerstone Christian School were honored as guests as the pictures below show them with their checks.
