Antioch, CA – Mayor Wade Harper announced that he has received the endorsement of Congressman Mark DeSaulnier for re-election as mayor of the city of Antioch.

At a recent campaign event Congressman DeSaulnier expressed his support for Mayor Harper, stating, “Wade is someone who understands the tensions that are going on in this country with his background in law-enforcement. He is passionate about disadvantaged communities and communities of color. Wade is the person that we want as mayor in the city of Antioch.”

Harper says, “I am honored, yet humbled to have the endorsement of my Congressman for re-election as mayor. Congressman DeSaulnier is a true veteran in politics and has been a mentor to so many.”

As of today Harper adds to his endorsements the Democratic Party of Contra Costa, the State Democratic Party, the Antioch Police Officer’s Association, and the Contra Costa AFL-CIO Labor Council for his November re-election bid. The Contra Costa AFL-CIO Labor Council represents 75 affiliated local unions and 85,000 Contra Costa working families.

In 2012 Mayor Harper received over 40% of the vote with 12,594 votes. Harper has a strong base and understands the needs of the Antioch Community. Harper is reaching out to all of Antioch’s registered voters to support him in his bid for re-election.

There’s two people I won’t vote for. DeSaulnier is an embarrassment. I was listening to him speak at the Homeland Security Hearing after the Farooke/San Bernardino Massacre and wasn’t impressed. He looks tired so he should retire! Unbelieveable anyone endorses Harper for anything.
