Captain Orman Says Goodbye, Retires After 30-Years With Antioch Police

The Antioch Police Department said goodbye to Captain Leonard Orman after severing 30-years with the department and the citizens of Antioch.

Captain Orman was hired on June 11, 1985 and retired December 14, 2015. During that time he held many positions within the department which includes:

  • Administration Sergeant
  • East NET Agent
  • Field Services Captain
  • Field Services Lieutenant
  • Field Services Officer
  • Homicide Investigator
  • Investigations Bureau Lieutenant
  • Investigations Corporal
  • Field Services Corporal
  • Field Services Sergeant
  • Narcotics Detective
  • S.R.U. Sergeant
  • Support Services Captain
  • SWAT Incident Commander
  • SWAT Sergeant
  • SWAT Sniper
  • SWAT Tactical Commander
  • SWAT Team Member

IMG_8403-smallAntioch Police Chief Allan Cantando said Captain Orman will be missed with a lot of years and experience out the door saying they were like family and made each other better over the years.

“Many people have been employed by the Antioch Police Department  and given tremendous effort and dedication.  Captain Leonard Orman is one of those individuals who gave his heart and soul to this department and the citizens of Antioch.  For the men and women who worked with Captain Orman, it was our honor.  Good luck in your retirement Captain Orman, it is well deserved,” said Cantando.

At 3:00 pm, Antioch Police Officers, Dispatch and Animal Service lined up outside the police department to bid him farewell with handshakes, hugs, and tears.

Captain Orman thanked his team saying “I cannot thank you all enough.” and proceeded with shaking hands and hugging each member of the department.
