Moxy, a boutique located in downtown Brentwood, has reason to celebrate this holiday season as they are set to celebrate their one year anniversary of their opening on Dec. 5.

“We are a little blingy, vintage, boho, western, professional chic, and definitely luxe,” says Daniella Kadlec, owner of Moxy, a popular fashion boutique in downtown Brentwood.

Kadlec is from Illinois, but this Midwest girl has found strong fashion roots in California. She isn’t just talking about fashion, she is celebrating it.

The boutique will be offering sales December 5th, 6th and 7th, similar to the sale they had for their grand opening. Customers who spend $100 will receive $25 off their purchase, $150 purchases will receive $50 off and $300 purchases will receive $75 off. Sales exclude the purchase of jeans.

On December 7th, Moxy will have a customer appreciation day to give back and show their appreciation. The store will have refreshments and specialty pastries from a local French pastry chef. “We want to thank this community for welcoming us,” says Kadlec.

Moxy loves their customers. “People come in and we love them,” she says. “They love us right back.”

Customers are attracted to Moxy’s eclectic styles of clothing and accessories. According the Kadlec, this mixture of style invites women of all ages to come in and create their own unique look, mixing both vintage and modern fashion trends.

“Find your own Moxy and run with it,” she says.

Kadlec believes every woman should embrace their inner beauty and create their own sense of style. Rather than flipping through pages of magazines and emulating a look, find your own.

“Before I shopped at Moxy I wasn’t quite sure what my style was,” says Tammy Ikeoka, one of Moxy’s regular customers. “Now I know I’m a lot of vintage with a little bit of bling.”

One of Moxy’s favorite accessories is scarves. “If you wear a lot of neutral colors, scarves can enhance your style,” says Kadlec. “Everyone needs a pop of color.”

Kadlec researches modern trends with accessories as well as works with seamstresses to teach customers how to tie or wrap their scarves. She also looks to vintage accessory trends, recalling her own Grandmother Sophie’s unique sense of style.

“She always wore amazing scarves and had beautiful jewelry,” says Kadlec. She added that her Grandmother Sophie was a bootlegger during the prohibition in Chicago.

Besides accessories, Moxy also offers custom jean fittings for customers. “Most women wear their jeans in sizes way too big,” says Kadlec. “I’ve been trained to teach women how to wear the right size jeans so that they hit you in all of the right places. Customers can call to schedule a jean fitting or just come in.

Moxy customers also enjoy booking VIP Parties. This is an after-hour shopping party. The hostess of the party earns free merchandise up to 10% of their sales, and if ten guests attend, they also receive a free purse.

“People bring wine, appetizers and love having a custom shopping experience with their friends,” says Kadlec.

To book a VIP Party, customers can call Moxy and ask for Daniella, at 925-325-4162.

Moxy will also be rolling out a fashion truck, possibly as early as mid-December.

Kadlec purchased an old California public library truck and is currently transforming it into a mini-Moxy on wheels.

Fashion trucks, following the popular trend of food trucks, are hitting the streets with clothing and accessories. This fascinating trend will allow Moxy to spread their fashion across the Bay area.

“Women will feel like they are a kid again, lining up at the side of the street waiting for the ice-cream truck to come,” says Kadlec.

The truck will also be available to rent for private shopping parties.

Moxy is located at 312 Oak St., in downtown Brentwood.
