Brentwood: Duo Rescues Quail from Sewer in Deer Ridge Area

quails

Here is a happy story out of Brentwood as Mason and Quinton rescued a tiny baby quail who fell into a sewer in the area of Deer Ridge Sunday  morning.

The quail fell into a sewer trying to cross the street when a vehilce approached and multiple quails scattered with the one quail separating and going in another direction.  After the vehilce got a little to close for comfort, it dropped into a 7-ft sewer.  The boys came home and with the help of their dad rescued the quail. Its estimated the rescue took 30-minutes or so.

The quail is now in route to Lindsay Wildlife Museum. The boys have named the quail “Lucky” and will be able to follow her progress every few weeks until its released back into the wild.

Kudos Mason and Quinton!

Such a happy story! Kids doing good things should be inspiring to us all! These 2 little boys made it their business to rescue a helpless creature and they deserve recognition.
