Brentwood: CPR Fast Hosts CPR Class and Launches EMT Re-Certification Courses

by ECT

CPR Fast is offering a special class this Friday for future students going into the EMS Field. The class, located in Brentwood is aimed at new students entering their respective fields.

According to Michael Dunham, owner of CPR Fast, Friday is a healthcare provider class which is a CPR class through the American Heart Association Class which is required for all police, firefighters, EMT’s, nurses, doctors, surgeons, dentists and other various fields. This class is mandatory every two years.

The class was designed to be available just in time for registration for students going into the EMS field.

“We are trying to be as available as we can for all the new students who are getting to register for fire and EMT classes for the summer semester,” says Dunham. “The goal with this class is to give them the tools to succeed as a first responder because this is the main skills needed in saving a life.”

Meanwhile, they are also offering a variety of other dates for refresher courses such as ALCS, First AID CPR, AED.

EMT Refresher Course

All State of California Certified EMT’s must re-certify every two-years to maintain their certification.

To re-certify, an EMT in the State of California must complete 24-hours of continuing education and pass a skills competency verification examination.

CPR-Fast-BrentwoodThis class does not re-certify an EMT, it only provides continuing education hours and skills competency verification documentation for the EMT to complete re-certification through their EMS Agency. If you are an ER Tech, in Paramedic School, or an EMT, this course will refresh and update your skills. The instructors are all experienced EMT’s, Paramedics and Firefighters.

“This course schedule is unique because its aimed for students not to be reuqired to take three-consecutive days off of work and sitting in a classroom, they can take it once a week until all three modules are complete,” says Dunham. “It can be done within three weeks or throughout the course of a year as long as all three modules are complete, they get their units.”

Dunham got the idea for this module because as a firefighter, he would have to use all his off days sitting in a classroom, he wanted to be able to give more options to those who essentially give it their all during the week while at work and so they can have more time with family and friends.

After Successful completion of this course, students will receive 24-CEU’s.
