Antioch Youth Services Task Force to Meet Tuesday to Discuss Youth Services and Programs

by ECT

Announced during last weeks Antioch City Council meeting, the Youth Services Task Force ad-hoc committee will host an event on Tuesday to gather public testimony from local community organizations, faith leaders, educators and law enforcement to help identify the need and possibilities for youth services in Antioch.

The event will be held on March 5th from 8:00 am to 1:45 pm at Antioch Community Center, located at 4703 Lone Tree Way, Antioch, CA 94531.

According to the release:

WHY: In 2018, Antioch residents overwhelmingly approved a ballot measure (Measure W), co-authored by Council Members Lamar Thorpe and Monica Wilson, which created a 1 cent sales tax for public safety, youth services and quality of life issues. The task force includes Mayor Sean Wright and Council Member Lamar Thorpe.

What a giant waste of time. Fix the crime & blight issue first, then worry about youth services later. Youth services is a luxary item, not a need. Lamar and Monica taking credit for Measure W is the equivalent of me creating Disneyland. These people are unbelievable and delusional.

Why not ask the baby-killing, life altering, creators of agent orange/napalm (2nd biggest employer of Antioch/Pittsburg) for funds? DOW Chemical. Oh wait, this is America. A democracy for the corporations, not the people.

If you attended school, you’d have learned that we are NOT a democracy, but a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC. Thank GOD we are not a democracy.
