Antioch Works to Become More Business Friendly by Offering Pre-Application Meetings

by ECT

The Antioch Chamber of Commerce and the City of Antioch have teamed up to make starting a business in Antioch as easy as ever. We are cutting the red tape and rolling out the red carpet.

A pre-application meeting is available to allow a new business to sit down with key city staff members.

The goal of the meeting will be to help staff better understand the project, identify potential issues, and create a project team that will help streamline the process. The business will create relationships with city staff and know exactly who to contact when questions arise.

Antioch Chamber CEO Sean Wright explained it’s a great opportunity for new businesses to streamline the process of opening in Antioch.

“The Chamber and the City Staff have sat down and looked at some of the hurdles that businesses have to jump through to open in Antioch.  We are working on making it easier for businesses to work with the city,” said Wright.  “This is an opportunity for new businesses that want to locate in Antioch to sit down with the city at no cost and discuss the project. “

The City of Antioch believe that by working together from the start we can make the process easier and faster so that businesses can be more successful earlier and create more jobs for our community.

“It benefits the business in that they create relationships with the staff and get to hear any challenges with zoning, etc. right at the front and they get assigned a city staff member to help them through the process,” said Wright.

This is a program for a business with a solid business plan and a specific site target. For those businesses that are still creating their business plan or trying to get their business dreams off the ground, the Chamber of Commerce offers a Business Plan Course, Score counseling, and access to the Small Business Development Center to help foster your entrepreneurial spirit.

“This is a giant step for Antioch to help become a business friendly community that creates more local jobs for our residents,” said Wright.

Please contact the City of Antioch or the Chamber to see how we can help you create your business of the future.

The City of Antioch and the Antioch Chamber of Commerce are continuing to develop ways to streamline the business permitting process. More updates are expected in the coming months.

What Great News!! It gives us all something to look forward to. Antioch has needed this kind of approach to business development in the city for a long time. Kudos to Sean Wright, Steve Duran and all the City Staff involved in this effort.

I have to agree with Carole! This is great but just too long coming. More and more are still leaving.

Where did Antioch go wrong??????? Nov 1, 2014 - 12:27 am

So if you have a liquor store, smoke shop, or internet cafe don’t apply. Hopefully Antioch can vet businesses coming in. Bring more then just a desire to get rich off the EBT and other BS that goes along with the extreme left.. We need busineses that want to put back into the community and not just their pocket. I hope this is not just another smoke ring up our ass to try and get people satisfied.
