by ECT

Just after 1:45pm Saturday, Antioch Police and Contra Costa County firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle fire on K St. & W. 6th.

IMG_8968Upon arrival, firefighters located a fully involved Ford Mustang with exposure to a home.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and prevented the home from catching fire.
Damage was limited to a window and wall suffering heat damage along with some smoke damage inside the home.

A fence and tree was also damaged.

IMG_8984According to police on scene, they learned a female intentionally set the vehicle on fire after an argument with her ex-boyfriend. The act of arson was believed to be premeditated, but that was still under investigation by Antioch police.

Although no name was released, the female involved does have a history with Antioch Police and was believed to have a restraining order against her.

No one was injured in the fire.

We will update if police release any additional information.
