Antioch Unified School District Superintendent Addresses KRON4 Reports

Antioch Unified School District Superintendent Stephanie Anello addressed two recent stories by KRON4 news on Dallas Ranch Middle School hoping to clear up misinformation.

Both were reported by

In both reports, KRON4 attempted to get comment from the District after 7:00 pm, several hours after the school was closed and staff were unable for the evening–in both cases, KRON4 ran the reports saying they reached out to the school and they have not yet responded to them.

The first story appeared on September 27 involving a fight in a classroom at Dallas Ranch Middle School. The story reported the student was still at school.

According to Anello, the student who attacked the girl at her desk was suspended the day of the incident and has not been back in school since. She also dispelled rumors on social media that the student was transferred to another AUSD middle school.

Although the District cannot share details on what transpired in the classroom because its under investigation, she says the student is being disciplined according to the limits of the Education Code and law enforcement was contacted on the day of the incident.

The second story ran October 5 claiming a student was locked out of the school when she needed help.

Anello says no students were “locked out” of the office and it was a case of two students horsing around.

According to the District, the student was asked to fill out an incident report so they could follow up. Initial indications is this was two students who were horsing around when the water was thrown. The school is still investigating and discipline will be assigned should the investigation determine that is warranted.

“The actions of the student in the original story in no way reflect the values of the District nor are this one student’s actions reflective of the over 16,000 amazing and talented students who attend our schools each day,” said Anello.

The media loves to target Antioch. They have to reinforce to the public that the big city is safe, while crime only happens in only “certain” suburban cities. Their agenda has become so obvious…

Funny, having gone to school in San Francisco, I can tell you MUCH worse happens there all the time, yet they never report anything that happens in SF. Car break-ins, Burglaries and crime in general is out of control in SF. The cops don’t even bother showing up they make you fill out an “on line” report.
But the minute something minor happens here in Antioch the media will drive 50 miles to get some BS story.

The media is now to blame for most of the social unrest in this county in search of advertising and click bait revenue. Shame on them.

KRON 4 knows that Antioch is the dumping ground for repeat criminals. An on average 20 arrests for warrants a week is proof enough this is the place to send them. Their baby mamas either here already or convinced to move here to support them.

It’s a shame kron 4 feeds into the narrative that our schools are simply dangerous. School clubs are maxing out. Students don’t even want to go leave and go home. Despite the few moments of violence. Despite the clowns that never were on campus. Despite that the school follows Education code. Despite the repeated lack of local news responsible reporting.
