According to a letter sent out on July 6, Tobinworld II will close in Antioch on July 26, 2016.
Tobinworld is a non-profit school for children and young adults with behavior problems. Typically students have been classified as severely emotionally disabled, autistic or developmentally disabled.
The letter stated due to a series of events with false and misleading media attacks, its impossible for them to continue to operate in Antioch.

Dear Parents of Tobinworld II Students:
It is with a heavy heart and a sadness that is difficult to describe that I inform you that Tobinworld II must close its doors at the end of the day on July 26, 2016.
An unfortunate series of events, sparked originally by a set of false and misleading media attacks against Tobinworld II, has made it impossible for Tobinworld II to continue to operate in Antioch, California. Antioch Unified School District pulled out 44 students from Tobinworld II in the last few weeks and today, Oakland Unified School District pulled 8 students from Tobinworld II. Both Districts refuses to fund Tobintowld II even though we are certified by the Claiforia Department of Education!
Tobinworld II has served students in the East Bay for almost 20 years and it hurts us so much to close our wonderful school! We have lved educating your child and wish we could stay open but its impossible due to the current situation. I hope you undertstand.

Idk what this woman is talking about. I usually would agree that the media sucks in its reporting but I saw the video. I was crying my eyes out in pain for that child that was being abused by that aide. It’s unfortunate that a school for special Ed students should shut down but it’s better that than the continued abuse by this school or the like!
My son went to this school and even though he didn’t like it the other school districts forces parents to have to put their kids in places that they have no other choice . even though I know that this school was my last hope and if it wasn’t for them who knows if my kid would of gotten an education. They were a blessing to me and I can say that they deal with kids that are more then a hand full its just sad that people don’t realize that the kids get away with acting out and I wonder what is gonna be of that kids life. Hopefully just not another killer in Antioch . kids don’t respect anyone anymore .
I loved that school and I am sad that bad mouthing has made them close their door.
