At 4:37 pm Monday, a two vehicle accident injured three people at Deer Valley Road and Lone Tree Way.
Upon arrival, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District immediately requested additional resources as two people were trapped. In total, three engines were requested to the scene with a fourth required for the helicopter location at Deer Valley High School. A total of three AMR units were also requested.
According to Antioch Police Lt. John VanderKlugt, the accident was caused by a driver who they believe ran a red light. 1 person was airlifted to a local hospital with serious injuries while two others transported by ground ambulance to local hospitals.
The road was clear by around 6:00 pm.
About an hour earlier at 3:37 pm, Antioch Police and CONFIRE responded to a rollover accident at Lone Tree Way and Bypass. Crews were on scene for 58-minutes.
