At 9:22 pm Thursday, Contra Costa County Firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle submerged into the water at Fulton Shipyard.
Crews rushed to get units on scene along with boats to begin a water rescue as it was undetermined if a person was inside the vehicle or not.
Once CONFIRES water team were in the water, they located the vehicle about 20-feet from the boat launch and began working to pull the vehicle from the water using a chain from a tow truck. Firefighters were slowed in the process as the vehicle began to fall apart and the vehicle was caught on something in the water.
Upon pulling the vehicle from the water, a search of the vehicle resulted in no person being inside the vehicle.
According to Antioch Police on scene, the vehicle was stolen Wednesday.
The US Coast Guard was also on scene during the incident to assist.
