Antioch Speedway Seeks Help Identifying Burglary Suspect

by ECT

The Antioch Speedway is asking the public for help in identifying a suspect who they say is suspected of burglary over the past few weeks.  The image provided is a person of interest in the thefts.

According to the owners, the first time that thieves broke in was on January 13 around 10:30 pm and have returned multiple times. They estimate more than $20k in items have been stolen at this time and it could be more. They are trying to get a final determination on what other miscellaneous items have been taken. They did say at least 2 quads, a golf cart, 2 gas operated water pumps, a generator and other items have been taken.

The Antioch Speedway is located in the City of Antioch at the Contra Costa Event Park located at 1201 W 10th Street. They can be contacted by calling (925) 779-9220 if you have any information on this subject.

Editors Note:

Several businesses in the City of Antioch have been targeted with theft and vandalism, including a business recently who was hit with a $20k+ loss.  The burglary suspect was arrested by the Antioch Police Department in that incident — more info.

With the number of businesses being hit with theft and vandalism, it prompted the Antioch Chamber of Commerce in September of 2021 to launch its Chamber Cares program which provides funding to businesses who are impacted by crime and blight–such as broken window, stealing of vital tools, or causes unforeseen mayhem that pushes their entrepreneurial dreams to the edge of closing.

To date, multiple checks have been presented to businesses as a way to help them out including Opportunity Junction who was hit with a vandalism.  The chamber also provided funding to Cocina Medina and Grocery Outlet who were also hit with vandalism. Most recently, Delta Bowl was provided $1,000 after multiple windows had been broken from windows being shot out by a BB Gun.
