The Antioch Senior Softball Team took home the Northern California State title and earned a trip to Missoula Montana to try and claim Western National Title and are asking for donations from the public to help fund the trip.

The team won in Chico to take home the Northern California State Title which is the first softball team in Antioch Little League History to ever win a state title.  Antioch won by defeating Division 8 softball 21 to 4 in the first game and 16 to 9 in the second game by defeating East Hills Little League 2 out of 3 games. East Hills were tough contenders and took a full team effort for the win while battling 100 degree heat.

The girls of this team range in ages of 13 to 16 and have a team size of 13 players who will be making the trip.

According to the league, they are in need of funding for transportation by Thursday July 25 and for accommodations for the nearly week long tournament.

They are hoping to raise $15,000 and are currently at $5,000.  They estimate approximately $600 for child and one family member for airfare or $600 for gas for family if driving. Hotel is approximately $125.00 per night per family times 6 nights

For donations they contact Dennis Felix at 925-550-8251 or Steve Mohammed at 925-478-1464 or www.antiochlittleleague.com and we will have a paypal link available to donate or contact the league at [email protected]
