Antioch Residential Burglary Leads to 110-MPH Police Pursuit on Highway 4

by ECT

A residential burglary in Antioch Thursday morning led Antioch Police on a 110 mph pursuit on Highway which ended in Walnut Creek after the vehicle crashed.

Police responded to a report of a residential burglary after a woman came home to find multiple subjects in her home. She immediately ran out of the home and called police who later located the vehicle which led to the pursuit.

Police followed the vehicle onto Highway 4 where speeds exceeded 100-mph and reached as high as 110-mph weaving in and out of traffic. As Antioch Police approached Pittsburg, CHP-Contra Costa was notified along with the Sheriffs Office and Pittsburg Police.

At Willow Pass Road, CHP picked up the pursuit and continued to follow the vehicle.  At that point, Antioch Police briefly terminated their portion of the pursuit except for one officer. Police quickly re-engaged the incident once the vehicle crashed and the subjects bailed from the vehicle around 10:06 am.

By 10:12 am, CHP reported that they had one suspect in custody inside BevMo and another outside. They also located the third subject nearby.

According to radio traffic, the take from the residential burglary was an iPOD and a laptop.

Update: Three suspects in custody.

Editors note: all information was per radio traffic and no official statements have been released as of 10:40 am.

These stupid scum bags always get caught and I don’t even know why they try! I am glad nothing happened to the homeowner. Good work APD and CHP.

Where did Antioch go wrong??????? Mar 5, 2015 - 9:21 pm

They don’t always get caught. Look at the previous call logs. Police only catch a fraction of the subjects that do this. This is why Antioch is a dangerous place to live and only a matter o time before you will be victimized. Good work today.
