Antioch Public Works Launches New Citizen Reporting Tool

by ECT

ANTIOCH, Calif. – Early this month, the City of Antioch partnered with SeeClickFix to announce the launch of their new platform that encourages participation of Antioch residents.

The Public Works Department is launching SeeClickFix, a citizen engagement app with enhanced features, used to report common non-emergency community issues. This app has a mobile component that allows for on-the- go reporting, and an online component that allows residents to stay informed on community issues. Used together with dedicated City-staff, SeeClickFix encourages citizen participation in community affairs, reduces response times from collecting quality information, and improves transparency through collaborative interaction with City-staff.

These benefits promote stronger communication with residents, and strengthens our relationship with the community. This platform will be starting with only Public Works requests and will move to Code Enforcement reporting at a later date.

For concerns relating to private property issues Code Enforcement offers online reporting on their home page at http://www.ci.antioch.ca.us/CityGov/CommDev/Code-Enforcement/.

Using this link is the fastest way to have your concerns addressed by a Code Enforcement Officer. This program will not be used for any type of law enforcement reporting; online options related to Police services are available on their website at http://www.ci.antioch.ca.us/CityGov/Police/.

“SeeClickFix will help us stay informed on issues that directly impact the quality of life for Antioch residents. This platform will be an integral tool in keeping City staff engaged with the needs of our community. We’re excited to offer our residents an efficient solution for service reporting that strengthens our relationship,” stated Antioch City Manager Ron Bernal

This partnership not only allows Antioch citizens to report problems, but also to view, comment, and vote to fix problems submitted by their neighbors. Citizens can even create their own “watch areas” to receive notifications about all the issues reported in their community, enabling them to follow the progress of all service requests — not just the ones they report.

The SeeClickFix mobile app is available for download on Android GooglePlay marketplace, and iPhone app store. In addition to the mobile apps, citizens can send reports to Antioch’s website
