Antioch: Portion of Lone Tree Way Shut Down After Gas Line Hit

by ECT

The Antioch Police Department currently has a portion of Lone Tree Way closed from Mokelumne Drive to Deer Valley Road in the City of Antioch after a construction crew hit a gas line.

The incident first was reported at around 1:39 pm Tuesday in the 4400 block of Lone Tree way.

According to Antioch Police, PG&E is on scene and working to repair the leak. Businesses in Deer Valley Plaza will have limited access for approximately 2 hours.

PG&E spokesperson Tamar Sarkissian said they were notified by 1:45 that a third-party construction crew struck a 1-inch gas line and were on scene within 15-minutes and were in the process of repairing the line.

PG&E is urging customers to help prevent dig-ins by placing a toll-free call to 811 or an online request to have gas and electric lines marked free of charge at least two working days before the project begins.

Do they get fined or pay restitution if they don’t call 811.
