Antioch Police: Two Woman Robbed at Gunpoint in Driveway

by ECT

The Antioch Police Department announced two females were robbed at gunpoint as they returned home.

Police say that on September 28 at 9:28 pm, two female residents arrived home in the 3100 block of Ashley Way and pulled into their driveway. As the driver exited the car, she was approached by two males wearing hoodies with the drawstrings cinched tight covering their faces.

The two males were armed with firearms and demanded the victim’s purses. The victim gave the responsibles her purse and they fled the scene in a white sedan.

Police say the entire incident was caught on video, which was collected and logged into evidence.

Area check for the responsibles met with negative results. Pittsburg PD also had an armed robbery with similar descriptions of the suspects.

On September 29, the Brentwood Police Department say a 16-year Brentwood teen was robbed at gunpoint as she returned home to the 2700 block of Holly Oak Ct. As she was getting out of her vehicle she was approached by two suspects both armed with handguns. The suspects told her not to move. One of the suspects reached into the vehicle and took her purse.

Antioch Police have not released the video of the incident.

Two males walking on your sidewalk with hoodie tied tight? You know what to do people. Remember, strength in numbers so make the calls.

I wonder if our pseudo mayor is paying attention? He might write about it on his blog the Chronicle calls “all about him”. Oh wait! This isn’t a positive moment so he says he won’t write about it. Well, it sure is positively a problem.

How are these robbery victims being chosen? Are they being followed home from the shopping center (possibly based on the vehicle’s upscale appearance or the like) and then approached as they prepare to enter their homes, or are the thieves waiting right there somewhere around the residence for them to return? Should we be looking for people who appear to be scouting out potential targets in store parking lots? We need to know the likely method of attack before we can do anything.

OurNeighborhoodisWatchingYou- The couple in Orinda (an elderly couple) thought they were followed home from Safeway in Orinda. The girl in Brentwood was 16, so who would target a 16 year old who’s too young to have credit cards, etc. and probably very little cash? My guess is they aren’t too picky, and they’ll rob anyone.

In today’s world we all need to be more aware of our surroundings no matter where we are. There are too many predators out there, don’t become their prey.
