Antioch Police Seek Public’s Help in Shooting Death of William Boyd III

The Antioch Police Department is seeking the public’s help. On Saturday morning November 8 at approximately 2:25 A.M., Williams Boyd III was found shot to death at the intersection of Grassland Way and Whitehoof Wy in Antioch.

Boyd was a resident of Oakland and had no known associations to east Contra Costa County. He was last seen in Oakland the day before his death and it is unknown why he came to Antioch or where he would have been going.

On Saturday Nov. 8 at approximately 2:25 AM, Antioch Police Officers responded to a request for a welfare check of a male possibly sleeping on the sidewalk on the corner of Grassland Way and Whitehoof Way.

The officers arrived to find the adult male victim, 36, unresponsive with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical responders.

This case is being investigated by the Antioch Police Department Investigations Bureau. We are in the preliminary stages of the investigation and no further information will be released at this time.
